17th Annual Festival of Trees at Good Will-Hinckley

Good Will-Hinckley is pleased to announce that the winner of our first ever Festival of Trees Christmas tree decorating contest is Donna Corson of Skowhegan, Maine. The theme of her tree was "An Old Fashioned Christmas," and Donna says she "really wanted to do a tree that would be beautiful and cost very little to make." Ms. Corson enjoys her work so much that she has 16 fully decorated trees inside her home, each with its own unique theme.
The first runner up in the People's Choice category went to the Augusta Nature Club, with their tree entitled "Some People Get Squirrelly over the Holidays." The Augusta Nature Club's tree was sponsored by Downeast Energy. The second runner up in the People's Choice category went to Lyn Rowden and Dot Guerette, who decorated the "Tea Tree" which was sponsored by Oce Imagistics.
The Festival of Trees decorating contest event is a new part of Good Will-Hinckley's annual Festival of Trees celebration. The traditional holiday event showcases 24 full size Christmas Trees, each decorated by a local designer who follows a special theme.
Good Will-Hinckley, founded in 1889, is a premier residential school which offers a safe, stable and structured environment for young people to live, learn and grow. It accepts 11 to 21 year olds who have experienced social, emotional or behavioral difficulties, learning challenges or family strife.
